Yamaha Music Keyboard PSS-21 Revealed

Yamaha Music Keyboard PSS-21 inside peek. Removing 15 screws separates the 2 halves of the PSS-21. All the musical wizardry is performed in the electronics mounted on on PCB( on the lower right ).

The other PCBs are the printed circuit keypads.
Two 0.5 watts speakers provide reasonably good stereo sound.

Note the foam padding around the ribbon cables connecting the PCBs. I believed they are there to reduce bass frequencies resonance. Very thoughtful of Yamaha.

In the interest of portability, the battery holder can only hold 6 AA batteries. This in a way reduce playing time in the field.
