The filter removed from the trinicon. Not the rectangle piece of glass attached to the face of the trinicon itself. This is probably a infra red filter.
The surface is coating with a greasy liquid, most likely used to ensure good contact with the other filter by filling up the air gap between.
The three golded plated terminals seems suspicious. It is used to polarise the liquid or something?
