The Sony DXC 1200P Trinicon Studio TV Camera power transformer. The 14-pin IC next to it for size comparison.This transformer has 3 separate secondary windings for supply +12V, -12V and +14V regulated to the electronics.
The weight of the well constructed and enclosed ac transformer is about 2Kg.
Modern switching power supplies are much smaller. In fact with switching power supplies, all the 3 voltages can be supplied with a package 1/3 the size of this transformer along and probably at much much higher power to weight ratio.
A plus point of these simple linear regulated power supply is that they are very rugged and seldom break down.
